Kate Knifton OLY
Kate began rowing her sophomore year of high school, after her dad, a former rower, convinced her to give it a try. She has been in love with the sport ever since. In high school, Kate rowed for the Texas Rowing Center, and before rowing, she danced for 13 years, even performing in the Macy's Day Parade.
After high school, Kate stayed in her home state, rowing for the University of Texas, where she was a 2x NCAA Champion, First Team All-American, Big 12 Athlete of the Year in 2023 and Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2023. She was named USRowing's 2022 Under 23 Female Athlete of the Year after winning gold at the 2022 U23 Championships in the BW4- and was a 2022 NCAA Woman of the Year nominee.
Post college, Kate was named to the 2024 Olympic team, where she placed 5th in the Women’s 4- in Paris. She won a bronze medal at World Cup II in the same event in 2024.
